- The storyline is given away in forms of mise-en-scene for example the character's costumes, setting and music type etc.
- The genre is given away by the dramatic lighting and editing e.g. theatre lighting and the synchronous sound with the editing pace etc.
- The main character is introduced by being in practically every shot including the first one showing that he is important within the film, and he is also the lead singer of the song intro which reinforces his importance.
- The diegetic music being played not only helps to build up the scene but also gives the audience an insight to the type of film they are watching, which in this case is a musical.
